ANALYSING ENVIRONMENTS
1. First Impressions: What mood has been created? What is happening in the scene? 2. Describe: What shape language does this use to communicate it's mood? What style of illustration is it?
|
3. Analyse:
What is the focal point? What sort of composition is being used?
How have values been used? How have textures been used? What is the target audience for this design?
4. Interpret:
What is the design communicating? 5. Evaluate: Is the design aesthetically pleasing and does it successfully communicate the mood of the environment? |
ANNOTATING DESIGNS
When you are discussing your own work DON'T describe, EVALUATE. Evaluate the effectiveness of your design in meeting your brief, evaluate why it is effective. Don't bother describing what it looks like... I can probably already see that.
